Open in Maps →

The youngest need play and sensations, the older ones a plot and a mystery, the parents names and dates. The walk is built so that every five to eight minutes the children have something to do: touch a warm stone, smell the sulphur, count the steps, find a cross. One hero runs through the whole route — Saint Abo: the children meet him at Metekhi, on the bridge and at the spring, and are glad to see a familiar face every time.

Questions

How do we handle churches with small children?

We speak in whispers; girls and mums need a headscarf — many churches have them at the entrance. We explain this to the children in advance, while still outside.

What if my child gets tired?

We shorten the climb to Betlemi or go up without going inside.
